stay and conquer!

Hello friends! So following on from my previous blog, which I should have done a week ago, but sometimes you just want to watch Netflix and do nothing.
So after my birthday Bec stayed for a week and does touristy things while I work. Half way through the week my host family leave for Miami and I'm off for the next 10 days (wow)!
One night Bec and I met up with her friend that lives here and she took us to this secret cocktail lounge. It was so cool  you go into a store and there is a phone booth inside and you walk into that and ring the telephone then there is a door in the phone booth that opens and it's a whole other room, so wicked!

The next day we went down to SOHO and did a bit of shopping, we also went into the DASH store (the Kardashians store) and it was beautiful I just wanted to buy everything, sometimes I think I'm khloe kardashian (that's weird).
Then we headed over to Brooklyn and walked around the waterfront. It was such a beautiful day and warm surprisingly.
We got lunch at the best pizza place in New York called Grimaldi's ( it really is amazing!) and we didn't have to wait outside for long which is a bonus, because I hate waiting.
This is just a small pizza but it was huge that is why I love America!

That night I may have gotten a tattoo.. Well yeah I did get a tattoo (sorry mum). When I was about to get it done I was freaking out I asked the tattooist 'what does it feel like?' He goes 'have you ever been shot or stabbed?' Im like 'what NO!' And he goes 'oh good cause it doesn't feel like that' And surprisingly it made me much calmer! I got a paper plane tattoo Which represents my time being in NYC and the awesome adventures I've been on while being here.
I was thinking about getting a unicorn beside it but then I thought Hmm maybe not (terrible idea).

Friday was her last day and all I can remember was that we went and saw the Statue of Liberty by taking a boat to Staten Island and back, best way to do it if you don't want to go up the statue, plus it's free (what a bonus)!

Saturday morning she left me to go back to Australia. We really did conquer the big apple in a week, my friend may have needed a holiday after this holiday. I miss my New Zealand buddy!

I then had a whole week off and kind of went crazy because I didn't know what to do with myself except watch Netflix and go to the gym.

Anywho that was a good time.
Love ya longtime people's!

Happy Birthday to meeeeeee!!!

Oh Happy Birthday to meeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! (in a singing voice)
Yes that is right it was my birthday on March 27th. I turned the BIG and 1, which is 21, not 3 but 21!! I am finally an Adult, living in New York, hanging out with friends and no boyfriend (what?!). That didn't sound right.

Any who  this Birthday was the 'Bees Knees' as in a great, cool, fantastic Birthday. For starters one of my besties who used to live in the long white cloud (New Zealand),who now lives in Australia (don't know why) came over for my 21st! I was over the moon about it. We hadn't seen each other for a minute (over 2 years) and she comes and sees me in NYC, on my BIRTHDAY, now that is true love (not really... it's just love).

The day of my Birthday we jumped on a few trains to a Spa in Queens, which was a-maz-zing-zing! It was three levels of awesomeness. The first level you walk into and they give you a t-shirt and shorts to go over your bikini, a towel and also a watch that is a key (that doesn't make sense). So its really a wristband that looks like a watch but you can pay for things and open doors with it.
These were our hot outfits.

The second level was the Sauna houses. Every house had a different temperature and was for different things for your body. One went up to 180 Fahrenheit and I'm pretty sure I shrunk (if that's possible). It also had a place where you can buy food for the people that are hungry, so I sat there the whole day (no no I didn't).

The third floor was the bomb diggity! It had a foot spa, a bar pool, and the best part was the rooftop, where there were two massive pools with big massage jets all around the sides, Incredibubble!

We also got a private massage for an hour and after that we just wanted to fall asleep it was so nice and relaxing, absolutely loved it!

The next day it was party time, but first we had to go shopping. We literally walked around from 10am till 7pm, stopping of course for food. We had booked a Hotel in the city with two of my other friends, which was great! We got all ready and looking pretty and when you look that good girl, you just have to take photos.

We had a dinner reservation at 9.30pm (I know 9.30 for dinner, crazy!) So we got there just on time and met our friends who were coming out for the big celebration. Our table wasn't ready yet but they said it would only take a couple of minutes (yeah right), half an hour later we finally got seated. They gave us free drinks and made the Chef serve us first, as we had to be out of there by 11pm. We then made our way to the promoters house and headed to the club where we fist pumped.

It was such a great night, loved having my friends there and celebrating turning 21 with them!
That is me for now see you next time friends :)

This, That and Everything in Between

Good Evening Children!
As the Snow goes away and the grass starts to poke out from under it, I really just want to roll on it and become a grass-hugger (if that's such a thing), and I feel like everyone else who lives in New York does as well (I'm thinking new club?). It is the most hilarious thing walking around and just been so grateful that you can now, after so many weeks, see grass (it's a beautiful thing). Until the first day of spring hits and we have a snow storm (now I'm real angry), goodbye grass! I couldn't believe it I really thought it was just gonna get warmer but no it had to snow. This really has become the longest winter in a very long time and I didn't even build a very good snowman (priorities).

Any who, another friend is leaving on Friday so we had our last weekend together in the city with her. Its always so sad when a friend leaves. I'm over saying goodbye now, people need to stop leaving thank you I would appreciate it! We went to a Broadway show called Finding Neverland which was absolutely brilliant, with the teacher from Glee as the main Actor and Kelsey Grammar who was hilarious. I really recommend it if you are ever in NYC!

We also stopped by Time Square and thought 'Hey lets get ourselves on a billboard' so we did, just casually.

At the moment my host families Dog has a bit of diarrhea, so she decides to poo in my room which was such a nice present! So glad I didn't have to clean it up, and to make sure she didn't do it again I put underwear on her, she looked hilarious I wish I had a photo to show you but you can imagine a dog wearing underwear, can't you? So weird!

Guysssss I'm so excited because one of my best friends is coming over, all the way from Australia ekkk! I didn't realize but I haven't seen her for 2 years and it's insane that we are going to meet again in New York of all places!

Also it is my 21st birthday on Friday WOOP WOOP! So weird that I'm gonna be 21 and I'm spending it in New York, like that's crazy cool. A bit strange that I won't be with my family celebrating, but I am happy that I have amazing friends here who I can celebrate it with. 21 though that's quite old for me, I don't know how I feel about being that age... hmm interesting.

Anyway that's me for this week. have a fab weekend!

Goodbye and Hello!

Oh New York, New York you are my friend!
For the past few weeks I have not posted anything because,
Number 1 - I was hibernating
Number 2 - I got sick of this freezing weather
Number 3 - And I was practicing my juggling (not really.. well maybe once)

But now it has stopped snowing and has been getting warmer and warmer! So its time to come out and tell you what's being going on.

As you know it was snowing just last week and we got about 8inchs of snow. Now that's crazy for March! It has been the longest winter this year and I JUST want to wear shorts!

I also said goodbye to one of my best friends who came at the same time as me. Which was sad because she had been from the start of this crazy journey. I haven't been able to take a perfect selfie ever since she left (it's the saddest thing).

We even brushed our teeth together! Miss you Claudia you crazy cat x

Latest news is I became an AUNTY!!! Breony Elizabeth Liebezeit. She is so beautiful and absolutely adorable I just want to boat home and kiss and hug her. And its crazy to think that my brother is now a DAD, time flies people! I can't wait to teach her how to dance ekkkk and to buy her cool clothes. Oh I love being an Aunty!
Cutest baby ever!!!

Well that is all for now, I hope you enjoy this little blog. Until next time!

Front row at a Fashion Show?! Girl please!!

Good evening or Good morning! (wherever you are in the world)

It is snowing again here in New York and has been absolutely freezing! Like so bitterly cold that you have to wrap every part of your body up when you go outside, otherwise you get frostbite. This means you either have to wear a ski mask that makes you look like a robber (that could be interesting in Grand Central Terminal). Or you wrap a scarf around your whole face and just leave a slit for your eyes so only your eyes get frostbite (I don't think that could happen or could it?). I prefer the scarf look, as the whole mask deal... well kinda creepy.

Anyway I braved this cold winter last Friday and stepped outside in just tights and a jumpsuit (don't worry I did have a coat, scarf and was wearing gloves). But that didn't really help my legs much... well at all. But anything for style my amigos, as I was going to a Couture Fashion Show! Ekkkkk Honestly one of the most amazing nights. Sitting in the front row of a REAL New York fashion show. It really is just like you see it on TV, with the big runway that is layed out in a 'n' shape and at the top of the runway all the photographers (like so many of them). And watching all these amazing designs come down the runway, hoping that that model doesn't trip or that dog doesn't start biting everyone (yes there was a dog in the fashion show), or that lady's boobs don't fall out (use tape people, use tape). It was really such a great show and I'm so happy I went, because it was one of the things I just HAD to do before leaving New York. It was on my invisible list of things to do.
I took a photo of every design and a few videos of the ones that I loved. But I will only show you a few. The Designers were Laura Angelica Moss, Alvertis Alexander, Baqash Wilson, Berny Martin, Matthew Cashe and Rashad Colhoun. I've never heard of any of these designers but they were brilliant!

My favorite of the night Designer:Rashad Colhoun

Amazing Mens wear (so Brooklyn)

 Enjoy lovely people!

One Year in the Big Apple!

I cannot believe I have lived in New York now for one whole YEAR! I remember the first few months of being here, it was very difficult; learning a new culture, living in someone else's house, making new friends, going to a new church, living without my parents for the first time, the MANY coins (why America?!). But it was also very exciting, living in a new place, living in NYC (hello best place in the world), going to Broadway shows, Brooklyn bridge, being a grown up, acting like I understood pounds at the gym (awkward), being told my accent was amazing in every store, learning American words, and always having something to do!

To this day people still have no idea what I am saying (I am speaking English and no I am not Spanish). I have had to learn how to spell my last name with an American accent and have actually had to learn a lot of words to say in an American accent, otherwise it takes Americans a very, very longtime to understand what I'm actually saying or this happens, 'that was really rude Krystal' and I will go, 'what? how is 'teddy bear' a rude word.' yes it is very funny sometimes!

I have made lifelong friends, they are the bees knees!! So happy to have them all in my life, you may know them as #Wolfpack. We have done some crazy stuff together that we will remember forever. One of my friends left today who I began this whole NYC journey with, which is so very sad and strange that she will no longer be here!
Also being a volunteer at church has just been amazing my team is the best, so supportive, caring and loving!
