My favourite place

Hello my beautiful people!!
Well it's been another great week full of great times.
Friday night I went to the city with my friend who lives just down the block from me. We had a good night, this was our view.. Empire State Building everyone!

Saturday I met up with a new Aupair in Union Square. Which is officially my favourite spot to chill and people watch (that's not weird..is it?). Anyway it's just such a cool area! There's a square (obviously) where people sit and there is always something going on, like people dancing in the square and people entertaining. There's also great thrift stores around the area (Reminds me of Takaka.. Lol not really!). So we sat in the square and there was a bubble party (I know, random!) people actually came and blew bubbles hilerious!! In New York there's a parade for everything (literally).
You can't see the bubbles, but this is how big the crowd was just casually blowing bubbles!

Then we watched these cool cats do tricks and jumps on their longboards (pretty extreme, don't try it at home kids).

Then OMG!! I headed to one of the most amazing dance classes I have ever taken! To be honest I was really nervous and wasn't actually going to go because I hadn't danced in a while, but then I thought how can I miss a great opportunity to be taught by one of the most amazing dancers in the world, who has choreographed for BeyoncĂ©, Chris Brown, lil mama (remember G-slide? he choreographed it. Such a good song!) etc. Of course I HAD to go!
It was a 2 hour class and some people nearly fainted because it was sooo hot and was a very intense dance class. But I LOVED it!!
Here's Hollywood and I, very sweaty after dance class (yuk)!!
His t-shirt was soaking wet of sweat that's how hot it was!!

Sunday I went to Church and caught up with a friend that I hadn't seen in a while. We had lunch and then I walked down to union square (favourite place), well.. actually took the subway cause that would of been a long walk! I walked around and went into Sephora (a big makeup place) and just stared at all the different makeup.. Yep that's what I do! I would love to be the person that owns that store (oh sigh).
I then was sitting in the square watching these two girls dance, then noticed that they were actually filming and they needed a crowd. So I, of course got in there (wid all dat swag, well I looked like a hippie, but that will do). So we had to act excited and was dancing etc was fun, until a homeless guy (oh bless him), decides to dance in front of the camera (ruined it!).
I decided to go check out this other church which was cool, met some new people.
After that I headed to Grand Central and walked the whole from 14th street to 42nd street. With my music in my ears, I was just loving life, as you can see here..
I just had to take a selfie, it had to be done!

Anyway in better news.. This piece of Chocolate (looks gross)
is the last piece of New Zealand chocolate and I'm going to eat it right NOW, so need some more ASAP (in the mail would be good, preferably Old Gold 70%) wow just ate it and so satisfied!!

So lessons we learned throughout this blog..
1. Don't let opportunities pass you by, just go for it!
2. Make new friends that like you
3. People watch (it's not creepy)
4.Give people chocolate that live away (ahem...me)

Hope you've enjoyed. Peace out!

Island of Coney

Woop woop CONEY ISLAND!!

Yes people that's right! on a very sunny Saturday my friends and I, (these beautiful ones)

Decided to hop on the Subway and travel an hour from the city, which only costed $2.50 (cheap as chips ow) and got to our destination CONEY ISLAND!!

There's like little carnival theme parks, shops, Nathan's Hot Dogs (place where you buy hot dogs and all that bad food) and also the beach!

Oh the beach was so nice! We stayed there the whole time and lay in the sand, did some people watching (as you do) and tanned. Well I didn't take my togs (that was a mistake) so I tanned in my bra.. Yep.. Awkward.

After the Island of Coney we went into Brooklyn, and WOW that was a mission because there were roadworks so the train wasn't stopping where we needed to get off. So we asked for directions and this guy was going to where we needed to go, so we followed this man (it was like 4D google maps, so easy). Got to the place after taking like 3 trains, then walked round circles for a bit (good one google maps) and finally made it to this restaurant where we met up with another friend to spend our last night with Him as He is off to Italy to nanny for abit (so cool!).

Anyway peace out!

Chelkanator and I hit up NYC!

Last week I had a visit from the Chelkanator. She came all the way from New Zealand for a week and I got to show her round my area, where I showed her the cool coffee shop named slave to the grind (seriously such a cool name) and the local mall. It was awesome hanging with another New Zealander who understands what 'togs' 'heaps' 'boom' and a whole lot of other New Zealand words that people not from NZ do not understand. People try to tell me that it is wrong English well.. no it's not, we just use different words but it means the same thing because we swag!
Anyway so I showed my hood to Chelk.
Then Friday night I came to her hood where she was staying. We went out to dinner to a really cool Thai place where we sat outside (pritty much on the footpath). Our table was abit wobbly which was annoying, so after we ate our green bean thingys (can't remember the special name but it was something like Gagame or agame?) chelk decided to put a whole bunch under one of the legs of the table so it would not wobble (she is a smart one), probably very disgusting but it did the trick!

After dinner we went and saw Xmen. Now I fully recommend this movie it was awesome!!
On Saturday we slept for ages but Definately could of slept more, the bed was just so comfy! We finally got up and went and met Chelks friends for brunch which was great cause one of them was from Blenheim of all places (little place in New Zealand).
We then left them and went to Central Park and got a frozen yogaurt (yum!). I said goodbye to Chelk and I went back home and went and watched Maleficent (another movie I highly recommend you seeing).

Oh yeah! Sunday I went to a Yankees Game with my friends. Let me just say Baseball is quite boring (was 3hours long, nearly died.. Not really) but we were way up the top of the stadium, so the game was a little spec and we couldn't see the big screen (cheap seats). We decided to move seats like close to the game finishing and it was a much better view. But the experiance was great! The Yankees stadium was really cool!
You have to have a pretzel while watching Baseball, just Gold!

So there you go! It's been very warm lately so I've been swimming a lot, thank goodness for pools!

Wolfpack Roadtrip

What a weekend! As you all know I went to Canada for the weekend with my friends (aka the wolfpack) and we had a blast! We left Friday at 11pm in our luxurious Chrysler mini van. You know you got to ride in style when doing a roadtrip, especially when you drive about 19 hours the whole weekend.
It was 6 hours to Montreal so we had our snacks and of course I had my M&Ms (best things invented).
We made it to Canada safely and found a place to have breakfast. First selfie of the trip excited about being in Canada.
We drove around for about an hour to find a hotel, finally we found one and we dropped our stuff off and went and looked around the city. It was an okay place but not somewhere I would go again. The city's first language was French so we were going round speaking French (well trying to). At night we got dressed up and went out for dinner at this Greek place that sold Italian food and had live French music (very cultural lol). We then went and hungout at a bar which was great fun then went dancing!
The coolest thing in montreal was probably these swings all along the street and they light up at night (so fluffy)!

Sunday morning we travelled another 6 hours to Toronto, by now we are over tired and very very hypo so we laughed at anything and said and did the most hilerious things, those of you who know me you can just imagine how cray cray I was (out of control).
We got into our hotel, chilled out for abit then walked to the CN tower which is a very tall tower, I think it's like the tallest tower or something (hmm I should of read about it).

So we got up there and the view was amazing and we watched the sun go down was beautiful.
I thought this photo was pritty artistic - maybe I could be a photographer...
Some of us lying on glass windows where you can see all the way to the bottom, was quite freaky!
Me standing on the glass looking down, Made me feel abit sick it's so high up arghh!

After dinner we walked round and found this guy...
I really wanted a shoulder ride (so weird).

We were so sleep deprived that we decided we were characters off Dora the Explorer, so I was Diego and one of my friends was the map which the whole time walking round she was singing 'I'm the map, I'm the map...' Yes people that is how tired we were, we had officially gone crazy!

In the morning we travelled to Niagara Falls woohoo!! The place was so beautiful, there was the town then Niagara Falls right beside it.
We found a bear!!

We had lunch there and it was so hot but I got a tan (that's all that matters lol).

We decided to leave and travel all the way back to New York (another 7hours).
I took this photo from the USA of Canada.  So strange that you can be in another country and take a photo of another country.

We all got through the border fine, although we did have backup plans if we couldn't get back into the USA. Mine was to go back and hangout with the bear for a few more hours and yep that's all I had.
As we were driving on the highway this car changes into our lane in front of us and slams on his brakes which made us have to slam on ours and all you could see was smoke, we were so close to hitting him (but thank goodness we didn't). The car just sped away so fast, we couldn't believe the person just did that, we were all in shock! Big ups to our amazing driver she has some great reflexes lol!

We got home at 2.30am safely. I would have to say it was one of the best weekends, made some great memories and laughed a heck of a lot! My friends are the bomb!

Dance Parade NYC

So last Saturday me and my friend Eva went to a dance parade in the city it was so awesome!! There were many different dance styles like Armenian dancing, tango, Hip Hop, Mexican, one where girls just walked and wave (don't think that's a dance style but.. sure) and many many more.
As we were walking along the parade we decided that we wanted to get in on this parade. So we sneakily just stepped off the path and into this house dance group.
It was hilarious, no one said anything and we just fitted right in, dancing away, people taking our photo until the group we were with started doing Salsa (awkward) but we kept on dancing with them!

The Dance parade ended at a park all the way Down in avenue A which is a really long walk from Grand Central, so by now my feet are starting to hurt. When the parade ended the Dance Festival started which was awesome! There were different stages, a performance stage, a learning stage and a stage where people were hanging from things (can't remember the name, it was circusy anyway). We mostly stayed by the learning stage so we could learn some sweet dance moves and of course I learnt some sweet hippie moves (so good). On the other side of the park was just a big dance party so we went there for a bit but it was so hot I had to go sit down and plus it smelt really bad of B.O (yuck).
The whole dance thing started at 1pm and ended at 7pm so I was exhausted, but was a great time and a great experience (There are some interesting people)!
Best bit was my friend and I got interviewed by Japanese t.v so look out for us when you watch the Japanese t.v (lol).

Here are more photos of the parade (the photos that look professional, I may have taken them from the parades Instagram, so no hate.)

Okay yea I didn't take any of these photos, but check more out on Instagram #bethemomentum.
Although I did take this one.. Yep!

That was my Saturday adventure, I'm going to Canada tomorrow I'm so excited!

Summer is coming woop woop!

Kiaora homies!
It has been a very chilled week and weekend because it is getting hot, well I should say it's getting HUMID! My hair is going cray cray already, I just don't know what to do with it (to shave or not to shave?) my hair is massive and frizzy, it's just out of CONTROL arghhhh! (I Definately don't need no weave).

Saturday was a chilled day. We shopped and that's about it, it was fun!
Then Sunday OH it was a good day! I took two of my friends to church which it was Mother's Day (happy Mother's Day to the mummas). Then we went and caught up with our friends in Central Park. It was 27 degrees which doesn't sound bad but it's humid so it feels like 50 degrees and I was wearing jeans (WHYYY?! Oh so sweaty). There was a sea of people just chilling, tanning, people in bikinis (pritty much undies and bra cause there ain't no sea around lol), people playing sport it was a great experience. We played frisbee and I got a Tan (yess, such a beautiful thing).
Central Park.

This is Claudia and I lying on my friend haha don't know why because it just made us way hotter!

We then decided to go get some food and found a great Italian restaurant that sold some really good pizzas. They had Hawaiian pizza aswell my favourite!

Anywho just a short update.

Twerk all day everyday!

What up!!! I know it may seem like a while that I havn't posted anything but I did do one last week I just didn't put it on Facebook (wops)! That's why y'all should all follow my blog homies cause I forget to share it.
So Step 1 - make a google account
Step 2 - follow my blog
Step 3 - twerk
Step 4 - never stop twerking (haha)

Life is good, is your life good? I hope so!

So last Thursday I got a phone call from one of my besties back in New Zealand to say that she got ENGAGED (finally). Oh let me tell ya, it was the best news ever, such a beautiful thing!! They gonna get married and have babies yay!!

In a few weeks my friends and I are going on a roadtrip up to Canada (oh yeah)! We are renting a car and going to Montreal then to Toronto and Niagara Falls. And we gonna try do it in 3 days (we can do it!!). I'm so excited ekkkkk!!!

The weekend was a good one like always, here's a few pics:
Meet some of my friends we have Claudia, Desi, some random chick and Nikki.
I love this photo because it shows all our different personalities. We are #wolfpack!

This rooftop bar we went to had a pool and I was so close to jumping in, but then realised I didn't have my life jacket with me, so that was a bust.

Also I've gotten real good at twerking (cause you needed to know that) but It's all I do now, all day everyday we be twerking! (Learnt it from the darker colored skin people here). Let's be honest, I'm a pro twerker.

On the Sunday I took my friend Nikki to Church with me. It was so cool because she had never been to a church or even heard of a church like Hillsong and she thoroughly enjoyed it! Booming!
The venue was in Times Square this week. Hillsong was taking over timesquare (legit).

I like to call this outfit, my Asian-inspiredness (no rascistness), or Spider-Man trying to be undercover (not quite working)... OH MY GOSH ok as I am writing this I just saw flippin Spider-Man in the background on a billboard hahaha that is crack up, oh weow, can't believe I just noticed that! I need to pay more attention, next time Justin Beiber might be behind me! (Be aware of surroundings).

Anywho one of my girls I nanny for, Michella plays Softball, so I go watch her games and her team have won all of them so far (woop woop, so proud). And today I was practicing with her doing some pitching and catching outside and I threw the ball to Michella which went flying past her and into an outside lamp, Glass smashed onto the driveway which we had to pick up piece by piece. It was very funny, lucky the parents are away! I did think to myself man I have great aim I should Definately play softball.. hmmm.. Maybe not.

So life is good! I am missing some very important things in my life though like dancing, oh how I miss dancing soo badly, and singing on stage with my brother and the whole worship team, really miss that! But I am thankful for the different experiences I am getting here.
There's always something to be thankful for, remember that.

Peace out
Love to you all
